Listen to Pete Swinton's new album. OBSTRUCTIONS, as the name implies, is based on obstructions of all kinds, as well as the beautifully designed cover figure by himself, which shows a giant cat in the middle of a road blocking the passage of a car. On this album, Pete Swinton works with sounds that are a little rougher and with more crackled textures than on his sixty-five previous albums for the Church, but all of this is masterfully applied by him in the seven tracks contained in this masterpiece of his, obviously without departing from the main focus of the sound artist, which is to propose new sonic abstractions within the field of Ambient Music. Try listening with headphones to have a more adequate experience and then better understand what I'm saying and also better capture the subtle soundscapes composed by this great composer of mental cinematic images through immersive and unusual sounds.
