Listen to the debut on this netlabel of the exuberant duo of broad-spectrum experimentalists formed by the most beloved and prolific British twins on the experimental world stage. I'm talking about Mick Magic & Skit Zoyd aka Magic Bullet, the twin brothers who really engage their audience on ReverbNation every day with a different track of ambient music accompanied by very interesting articles about their music career. So we welcome the avant-garde musical duo Magic Bullet and may this be the first of many albums of theirs that will come here for this netlabel.

"Ratione Personae Mentalis" the unscathed eighth album of this true legend in terms of family musical experimentation starts our marathon with Magic Bullet at the height of their creative form with seven hours of duration from recordings they made especially for the "RPM Challenge" and for you to play in the environment inhabited by drones for about half an hour each with the introduction of the portentous Elling Lien from the RPM Challenge that opens this unforgettable trip that you can have if you want from now on so please put on your pair of headphones by ear, settle in and have a great listen.

about

It was early 2021 when our good friend {AN} Eel first told us about this RPM Challenge thing. It was run by one Elling Lien, based in the wilds of Newfoundland, Canada. Basically, you record something specially for them in the month of February, then they have a big online listening party. You could do a single track, an EP or a whole album if you wanted, the latter of which they specified needed to be a minimum of 35 minutes. Okay, so Skit and I have a bit of a sense of humour. What if we created a challenge of our own? Like 35 minutes that were virtually un-listenable, a sonic sensory assault that they would have to include in their listening party, see if we could give the world tinnitus! So we created this discordant blend of pure sine waves, based on the closedown tone they played on the BBC many years ago when TV wasn't 24/7. We called it 'RFA' (it stands for 'Really Fucking Annoying') and duly sent it to them, complete with artwork that makes you nauseous if you look at it for too long. We actually felt a pang of guilt when it was accepted in good faith and an excerpt included in their broadcast. So then when that was over and they advertised their REM Challenge, we felt honour-bound to at least take a look. Incidentally, it wasn't for the best cover of "Shiny Happy People", it was Record EVERY Month. For a year. It seemed a lot to take on along with our regular schedule, couldn't hurt to ask the details though, surely?
"For the new 'every month' one (yeah, let's do it!)," I posted with uncertain enthusiasm, "what are the requirements for track length etc? Ta. #InEllingWetrust!"
"No length limit!" Replies Elling.
"Cheers." Said I, but I couldn't just leave it there, could I? "No 35 minute ear-bleeders for this one though, promise!"
"Mick Magic," said he, "don't make promises you can't keep!"
What followed was another eleven 35 minute ear-bleeders, utilising power tools, domestic appliances and the odd hangover remedy. And we ended up with this seven hour body of work that no one in their right mind would want to release. As luck would have it, that describes most of us in the underground music world, so when Bode asked us about a Magic Bullet album for The Church Of Noisy Goat, I suggested the whole lot as a seven hour mega-album.
"That sounds very nice!" He said.
The rest, as they say, is history.
